What is Stiolto Respimat used for?
Stiolto Respimat inhaler is a maintenance treatment for the symptoms of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). People with COPD experience symptoms include coughing, wheezing and breathing problems including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. These problems can prevent individuals from getting the most out of work, activities and athletics. Spiolto Respimat (tiotropium bromide and olodaterol) has a combination of drugs that work together to relax the muscles of the airways to make breathing easier. This is not used to treat sudden symptoms as it will not provide relief quickly enough to be effective. This is a long term, long acting beta agonist (LABA) maintenance drug. This is not approved to manage asthma as the combination of drugs are not compatible for asthma treatment. There have not been any clinical trials, double blind or controlled trials that verify the safety and efficacy of Spiolto Respimat to treat asthma. Do not share this medication with acquaintances even if they have similar symptoms. It may not help their medical conditions and can result in health complications.

How to use Stiolto Respimat?
Your doctor will inform you how to use this medication, and may even provide a demonstration of the device. The manufacturer's packaging should also come with an illustration that provides a visual reference. If it is difficult to understand and you have additional questions, contact a doctor or pharmacist to ensure you are proficient using this product.
When you first use the respimat you will have to prime the device. To prime the device, load a cartridge and press the release button to discharge an inhalation spray. The device should be pointed away from you to avoid contact with your eyes. Prime a total of four doses prior to use. It also needs to be primed if the device is not used for several days.
Use this medication around the same time every day to get the most benefit from it. Do not stop taking this once you feel better as symptoms can return. If you happen to miss a dose simply skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to “catch up” as this will not accelerate treatment and may increase the risk of side effects.
