How to use an Estring Vaginal Ring?
Before you start using this medication, read the Patient Information Leaflet from your pharmacist. Learn how to use it properly. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Wash and dry your hands before handling the ring. Put the ring into your vagina as directed. It should stay there for 90 days.
Remove it and replace it with a new ring after 90 days. Do not leave the ring in for longer than 90 days.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
- If the ring is in the right place, you should not be able to feel it. If you can feel it, gently push it higher with your finger. If it feels uncomfortable, it's likely not in all the way
- If the ring falls out, rinse it with lukewarm water and put it back in. If it falls out often, talk to your doctor.
- To remove the ring, hook your finger through it and gently pull it out. Discard the used ring in the trash. Do not flush it down the toilet.
- It may take 2 to 3 weeks for this medication to work fully. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.

- store at room temperature away for animals when not in use.

How to insert an Estring Vaginal Ring?
Your healthcare professional can insert and remove the ring. When inserting the ring yourself choose the position that is most comfortable for you. Whether it is standing with one leg up, squatting, or lying down.
- After washing and drying your hands, remove ESTRING from its pouch using the tear-off notch on the side. (Since the ring becomes slippery when wet, be sure your hands are dry before handling it.)
- Hold ESTRING between your thumb and index finger and press the opposite sides of the ring together
- Gently push the compressed ring into your vagina as far as you can.
- Once inserted, ESTRING should remain in place in the vagina for 90 days.
How to remove Estring Ring?
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
- Assume a comfortable position, either standing with one leg up, squatting, or lying down.
- Loop your finger through the ring and gently pull it out.
- Discard the used ring in a waste receptacle. (Do not flush ESTRING.)
